We all have transitions with our Yoga Practice.

Sometimes you're feeling good and want to show up on your yoga mat every day, other phases in life you might find it very difficult to keep that motivation up. We all practice for different reasons & are motivated by something different, & that's ok. I think the thing I hear the most is that we all know we will feel better after a yoga session. If that's physical or mental, no matter how bad or good you feel in class, that euphoric feeling you get after is the experience that keeps you wanting to come back.

So how do we keep our practice going when life gets busy & it's not as easy to show up?

I have created a check-in method to help set yourself up for a consistent & loving practice. Starting some good habits that will help in the long run for you to keep showing up for yourself. Maintaining the strongest, healthiest version you can be. Showing up for yourself, helps you hold space for other people.

How to Stay Motivated on your Yoga Mat Through Life’s Transitions

Here is my check-in method ✔️

△ Find a set schedule to practice, so you can schedule your life around your practice. Keep in that flow of your practice

△ Find an accountability yoga-buddy so that you can check in on each other!

△ Surrounding yourself with things that bring out your inner joy!

△ A new yoga outfit or yoga mat can inspire us!

△ Why keeping a routine is so important, jumping on your mat not based on your feelings, but your commitment.

△ Find your community & stay connected to people who you are inspired by their yoga practice.

△ Create a home yoga sanctuary space in case you can't make it to the studio so you have a place for ME time on your mat.

△ Switch things up! Change up your class routine & having a shorter practice is better then no practice!

△ Invest in your practice, meaning spend the money you need to set yourself up right from the start!

△ Schedule in a rest day, a break is necessary.

△ Keep your yoga space organized, so you stay organized.

△ Schedule yoga as MY time

△ Set small goals for yourself, & continue to grow the goals as your practice evolves.

△ Eat a clean diet & eliminate alcohol

△ Results are not the goal, the consistency of the practice is most important.

△ Come to the mat open minded, don’t judge yourself on your mat.

△ Making your yoga practice part of your life style will help you prioritize the practice.

△ Be playful in your practice

△ Doing 10 mins of yoga on your own is better than not doing it at all.

△ Take it one day at a time, be easy on yourself.

△ Remember why you started & remember how far you have come. Set an intention.
